Job Description

The Demand Planning Coordinator is responsible for accurate demand forecasting, inventory management, and supply chain coordination. This role collaborates with sales, marketing, and production teams to align demand plans with business objectives, ensuring optimal stock levels while minimizing stockouts, overstocking, and supply chain disruptions.

Key Responsibilities:

Demand Forecasting

  • Develop and maintain demand forecasts using historical data, market trends, and cross-functional inputs.
  • Incorporate internal and external factors such as promotions, seasonality, and economic conditions into demand planning.
  • Monitor forecast accuracy and adjust forecasts based on actual sales performance and market conditions.

Inventory Management

  • Collaborate with inventory and procurement teams to maintain optimal stock levels.
  • Monitor inventory turnover, slow-moving items, and potential stockouts to improve inventory efficiency.
  • Establish appropriate safety stock levels and reorder points to prevent shortages or excess inventory.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Work with sales, production, and procurement teams to align demand forecasts with manufacturing and supply chain capacity.
  • Communicate discrepancies between forecasted demand and actual sales to key stakeholders.
  • Provide regular reports to senior management on demand trends, forecast accuracy, and supply chain challenges.

Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Analyze historical data, sales patterns, and market intelligence to enhance demand planning strategies.
  • Utilize demand planning tools to generate reports on trends, forecast accuracy, and inventory status.
  • Review performance metrics regularly to improve forecasting processes.

Continuous Improvement

  • Implement initiatives to reduce forecasting errors and optimize inventory turnover.
  • Apply industry best practices in demand planning and inventory control.

Risk Management

  • Identify and mitigate risks related to demand variability, supply chain disruptions, and seasonal fluctuations.
  • Adapt demand plans to accommodate unexpected changes, such as supply shortages or shifts in consumer behavior.
