The Demand Planner (Category Merchandising Manager) will be responsible for forecasting, buying, and allocating items within the assigned department/category. This role requires strong analytical skills, a keen eye for market trends, and the ability to negotiate effectively with suppliers. He/She will also manage the entire buying process, facilitate sales and stock plans, and present findings and strategies to top management.
The job includes:
Merchandise Selection and Buying:
• Prepare merchandise selections during the scheduled buying process and ensure thorough items documentation.
Forecasting and Trend Analysis:
• Analyze historical sales data and market trends to forecast demand.
• Develop accurate projections for product assortment, sales, and inventory needs.
Sales and Stock Planning:
• Develop and implement sales and stock plans for each store.
• Ensure the right assortment mix based on local customer preferences, store size, and location.
Supplier Negotiations and Product Development:
• Negotiate favorable terms and pricing with suppliers.
• Collaborate with different teams to enhance product offerings.
Reporting and Strategy:
• Prepare and present comprehensive reports and strategies to top management.
• Adjust plans based on sales performance and market analysis.
The job seeks:
• Bachelor's degree in Fashion Merchandising, Business, Marketing, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in merchandising or product management, preferably in fashion or retail.
• Proficiency in merchandising software and tools, along with Microsoft Excel.
• Strong understanding of consumer behavior and market trends.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously
