Position: Demand Manager

Job Summary: The Demand Manager leads the endtoend demand management lifecycle, aligning business needs with capacity and supply to ensure reliable, datadriven planning and prioritization. This role consolidates demand signals from multiple business units, validates and forecasts demand, and maintains the demand backlog with clear definitions, value cases, and required timelines. The manager facilitates demand review and prioritization forums, partners with portfolio and capacity planning teams to balance demand vs. resource constraints, and ensures alignment with strategic roadmaps and funding cycles. They drive the adoption of demand governance processes, maintain a single source of truth for demand data, and provide actionable insights via dashboards and performance metrics (e.g., forecast accuracy, lead time, fulfillment rate). The role also manages dependencies and crossfunctional communication, proactively flags risks and tradeoffs, and fosters continuous improvement in forecasting, intake workflows, and stakeholder engagement.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Develop and oversee Demand, Capacity, and Availability Management processes, procedures, risks, and work instructions that include developing, analyzing, managing, and reporting overall status and recommendations for resolution coverage with SLAs Using SLA performance reporting to hold service providers to account
- Recommend, as part of the Network Transformation/Modernization Plan, improvements to services and supporting infrastructure
- Develop correction actions for continual service improvement
- Oversee the development of Availability Impact Analysis reports and assess Trend Analysis to assist in determining corrective actions for performance improvement
- Lead the development of Capacity Impact Analysis and Capacity Trend Analysis reports to assist in determining impact root cause. Design Develop & Maintain Periodic Capacity plan includes monitoring, trending, forecasting & assessing new demand
- Support all audit, regulatory and compliance deliverables related to capacity planning
- On UBP, some specific activities of the demand manager include: Establish the framework and principles of Demand Management for UBP focusing on determining the bank-wide end-to-end solutions delivery capacity, which is termed as the bandwidth; Establish the working policies and principles needed to increase/decrease/manage the end-to-end bandwidth of solutions delivery vis-a-vis business needs; Work in collaboration with HR Talent Acquisition and GS/Procurement Services to ensure that right supply for the solutions delivery is ready to accommodate the required defined bandwidth; Manage the SLAs and deliveries of the solutions delivery in relation to manpower/capacity-related concerns.
- The demand manager will allow us to minimize the concerns of the business and enabling units regarding lack of capacity by establishing an agreed-upon framework and SLA. In parallel, this will also allow us to prioritize critical and needed builds vs the 'wants builds.
Required Qualifications
- Candidates should hold a bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field.
- A strong foundation in demand planning, portfolio management, or business analysis is essential.
- Certifications such as ITIL (for service demand and governance), SAFe/Agile (for portfolio and PI planning), or APICS/ASCM CPIM/CSCP (for demand and supply planning principles) are highly valuable for demonstrating structured expertise in planning and prioritization.
- Proficiency with demand planning or portfolio tools (e.g., ServiceNow Demand, Jira/Advanced Roadmaps, Clarity PPM, Anaplan) and strong quantitative skills support effective forecasting and governance.
Preferred Qualifications
- A master's degree in Business Administration, Data Analytics, or a related discipline is an advantage, along with experience leading demand or portfolio functions in medium-to-large enterprises.
- Prior work in technology, financial services, telecom, healthcare, or consumer goods is beneficial due to complex demand patterns and compliance nuances.
- Experience with enterprise planning and prioritization at scalecovering budgeting cycles, OKRs, roadmapping, and capacity managementis preferred.
- Familiarity with scenario planning, value scoring frameworks, Lean Portfolio Management, and integrating demand with release/PI planning will further strengthen candidacy.
Skills And Competencies
- The role requires strong competencies in demand forecasting, prioritization frameworks, and capacity-to-demand balancing.
- Advanced analytical skills and comfort with data modeling, trend analysis, and KPI design are essential, alongside fluency with planning/PMO tools and BI dashboards (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
- Excellent stakeholder management, facilitation, and negotiation skills are needed to align executives, product owners, finance, and delivery teams on trade-offs and sequencing.
- The manager should demonstrate clear written and verbal communication, process design thinking, and a continuous improvement mindset.
- Familiarity with Agile delivery, portfolio governance, financial acumen (benefits realization, TCO), and risk management is critical to drive predictable demand fulfillment and strategic alignment.
