Thermal Modelling Specialist (NatHERS Support)

VA RATE : $12-15AUD per hour (Open-negotiable to beat your current pay!)

JOB OVERVIEW:

Support accredited Australian assessors by producing high-quality thermal models for residential buildings using NatHERS-approved software. The role focuses on accurate data modelling, compliance preparation, and documentation to support certification under the National Construction Code, National Home Energy Rating Scheme, and BASIX frameworks .All final accreditation and certification is completed by Australia-based accredited assessors.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Conduct new assessments & system modelling using accredited NatHERS Software

Keep abreast of regulatory and industry changes and requirements.

Ensure to all assessments are conducted within the current rules and regulations.

Undergo ongoing training and maintain proficiency in all Accredited NatHERS appr

ovedsoftware as and when required.

Conduct quality assurance reviews of contracted and company employee assessors assessments and your own assessments. Accredit the work to meet compliance alongside AU-based accredit

assesors.

Ensuring that all assessments will satisfy an external audit, if required, to the best of your ability.

Discuss assessment results and offer professional advice with clients by phone, by video conference or face to face as required from time to time, commensurate with your ability. Always ensuring that you represent the organization at the highest level.

Conduct BASIX assessment and certification of projects as required from time to time.

Conduct additional regulatory assessments commensurate to your abilities as required from time to time. Including but not limited to EDS Management Plans,Section J Deemed to Satisfy Assessments, NatHERS Whole of Home alongside local AU accredited assessors

Provide training to others in regulatory assessments, commensurate to your ability and training as required.

Maintain a high level of customer service with all written and verbalcommunication with clients and external suppliers and contractors.

Engage in team meetings and provide input to the benefit of the business as and when required.

Be aware of job costings and profit margins and report on areas of the business where you identify margins are not being maintained.

Work alongside AU Accredited assessors to maintain accreditation in NatHERS Thermal Assessment and Building Designer. Completing all necessary Continuing Professional Development (CPD) activities as required to maintain accreditation,

Job Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience using NatHERS software (Bers Pro highly desirable)
  • Demonstrated experience modelling Australian residential projects
  • Strong understanding of: Building fabric, glazing, insulation, orientation. NCC Section J / residential thermal principles.
  • Ability to work within defined QA and compliance workflows
  • NatHERS Assessor Accreditation & Australian certification or registration *(preferred but not required) **Formal NatHERS accreditation is not required for this role. All work is reviewed and accredited by Australian-based certified assessor**
