Work closely with developers, system administrators, and other IT staff to support database-related projects. Provide expertise and guidance on database design and best practices. Job
Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain database systems to ensure high availability and performance
- Monitor database performance and implement necessary changes to optimize efficiency
- Perform regular database backups and recovery procedures
- Ensure data integrity and security across all database systems
- Collaborate with development teams to support database-related needs and projects
- Troubleshoot and resolve database issues promptly
- Develop and maintain documentation for database operations and procedures
- Implement and manage database security measures
- Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations
- Provide support for database-related issues and queries.
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Minimum of 4 years related experience
- Strong knowledge of SQL Server (versions 2016, 2017, 2019, 2022) and SQL Express
- Experience with database performance tuning and optimization
- In-depth knowledge of SQL Server database administration, including database design, installation, configuration, and maintenance
- Familiarity with high availability and disaster recovery solutions, such as AlwaysOn availability groups and clustering
- Proficiency in writing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, and functions
- Good understanding of formal processes such as ITIL, Change Control, Issue Management etc, and be comfortable working to those processes.
- Experience with cloud-based database solutions (e.g. Azure).
- Preferred Certification in SQL Server or other relevant database technologies.
