Job Description

Role Database Administrator (DBA)

Job Summary The Database Administrator (DBA) is responsible for ensuring the performance,

availability, and security of several database instances within the organization. This role involves

orchestrating upgrades, backups, and provisioning of database instances to meet business needs. The

DBA collaborates with cross-functional teams to optimize the usage and maintenance of database

instance as required.

Responsibilities And Duties

  • Installation and upgrading of MS SQL databases in non-clustered and clustered environment

with versions 2008/2012/2016/2019/2022 under windows platforms.

  • Installation and upgrading of MySQL databases in non-clustered/HA and HA/replication on

versions 5.7/8.0 under Linux/windows platforms.

  • Manage MS SQL and MySQL/PostgreSQL databases on Linux/Windows platforms.
  • Configure and maintain database servers and processes.
  • Monitor DB system health and performance Ensure high levels of performance, availability,

sustainability, and security.

  • Analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time Refine and automate regular processes, track

issues, and document changes.

  • Assist application owners and architects with the development of DB environments.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Provide support for critical systems, perform scheduled maintenance, and support release

deployments in a 24x7 operations environment as required.

  • Prepare documentation and specifications as required.
  • Work closely with other technical/application teams to ensure delivery and service assurance

Qualifications


  • Have 5+ years as MS SQL DBA Have 2+ years as Linux MySQL and/or PostgreSQL
  • DBA Experience with Linux and Windows platforms
  • Ability to work in a 24x7 on-call after hour rotation environment.
  • Strong experience on configuring and troubleshooting.
  • Always On high availability and DR solutions.
  • Strong experience on merge/transactional replication and HAProxy
  • Familiarity with SSIS, SSAS, SSRS PowerShell scripting skills.
  • Knowledge of other database platforms and scripting platforms (preferred)
  • Good understanding of change management
  • 1+ Service Now or equivalent ticketing system experience
  • Understanding of MySQL's underlying storage engines, such as InnoDB and MyISAM
