Job Title: Data Solutions Engineer (Analytics & AI)

The Opportunity
Propel Manila is establishing a dedicated Data Solutions Engineer role to build the technical backbone of our growing data practice.
This is a pioneering position, but you are not starting from zero. We have a clear strategic roadmap, a talented team of analysts, and a suite of proprietary frameworks that are already delivering value to major clients. We are now moving from manual execution to a product-led model, and we need an engineer to turn this vision into a scalable, secure, and sustainable reality.
You will work directly under the supervision of the Data Director to operationalize our new data strategy. Your mission is to build the pipelines and systems that allow our research team to move faster and dive deeper.
The Team Dynamic
You will be the technical anchor within a team of Data Analysts, Cultural Researchers, and Strategists, not a traditional software development team.
Your role is one of enablement and translation. Working with the Data Director, you will take business requirements (such as automating a complex scoring model or securing a real-time intelligence dashboard) and translate them into robust technical solutions. You will build the infrastructure that allows our analysts to focus on insights rather than data cleaning.
Key Responsibilities
- Pipeline Architecture: Design, build, and maintain the automated pipelines that fuel our products. You will own the flow of data from ingestion to storage (BigQuery) to visualization (Looker Studio), ensuring it is accurate and reliable.
- AI & RAG Implementation: Help us structure our data repositories: cleaning and tagging unstructured data so it can be effectively processed by LLMs. You will support the technical side of our RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) strategy using tools like NotebookLM and Gemini.
- Scripting & Automation: Write efficient Python scripts to automate complex calculations (like sentiment scoring and anomaly detection) and help non-technical analysts optimize their own code for security and performance.
- API Integration: Build and maintain connectors for diverse data sources: including social listening platforms, short-form video trend tools, and consumer research panels, to create a unified single source of truth for the agency.
- System Governance: Establish protocols for data security, API key management, and cloud cost control. You will ensure our innovation remains budget-efficient and secure for enterprise clients.
The Tech Stack
We are looking for someone excited to work with this specific ecosystem:
- Core Logic: Strong proficiency in Python (Pandas/NumPy) and SQL is required.
- Cloud Warehousing: Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform, specifically BigQuery.
- AI & LLMs: Familiarity with Gemini, OpenAI, or RAG architectures is highly desirable.
- Ingestion & Viz: Experience connecting marketing data tools, social media APIs, or visualization platforms like Looker Studio is a strong plus.
