Job Summary
We are seeking a Data Security Engineer to lead our data protection and data loss prevention (DLP) efforts. This role focuses on securing internal data as it moves across systems and outside the organization, while supporting business operations through practical and well-balanced security controls.
This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys ownership, problem-solving, and working closely with stakeholders to understand real data usage before enforcing policies.
Key Responsibilities
Design, implement, and manage data protection and DLP controls across enterprise and cloud environments.
Configure and operate Microsoft Purview DLP, data labeling, and information protection policies, or equivalent platforms.
Define and enforce policies for external data sharing and API access controls.
Analyze DLP alerts and signals to identify abnormal or risky behavior.
Partner with engineering and business teams to understand data flows and operational needs.
Continuously tune policies to balance security, usability, and business impact.
Requirements
Experience in data security, information protection, or DLP-focused security engineering roles.
Hands-on experience with Microsoft Purview DLP or similar enterprise DLP platforms.
Strong understanding of data classification, access control, and cloud security principles.
Experience analyzing security logs and alerts.
Comfortable working independently in evolving environments.
Nice to Have
Software or cloud engineering background.
Experience in SaaS, cloud-native, or API-driven environments.
Familiarity with Microsoft security tools (Purview, Defender, Entra ID).
