Data Platforms Head

JOB SUMMARY

The EDSO Data Platform Head is responsible for the ensuring consistent adherence of Enterprise Data Group Solutions to operational SLAs such as server uptime and service availability of EDG System. (Data Storage, ETL/ELT, Data Ingestion, Dashboard, Machine Learning, and APIs) He/She will safeguard the production environment performance and alignment to Enterprise Data Architecture by ensuring operational standards are met thru design and implementation reviews with development teams and partners. As a EDSO Data Platform Head, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and managing the organization&aposs data infrastructure and platforms. Your primary responsibility is to lead a team in designing, implementing, and maintaining robust data systems that support the company&aposs strategic goals. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, leadership skills, and a deep understanding of data management and analytics. Having direct responsibility over day-to-day operational functions of EDG, the EDSO Data Platform Head will also be in charge of capacity forecasting and continuous improvement initiatives.

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Ensures the Operational Service Level Agreements (SLAs) on Data System, service, function availability is met
• Manages support teams and applications administrator and ensures best practices in implementing production fixes and improvements
• Interfaces with end-user groups to ensure that Data Platforms are performing according to expectations
• Leads and conducts operational readiness reviews for newly implemented projects
• Monitors and Drives capacity management, and system utilization plan
• Implements improvements to capacity plan, system utilization plan and data model
• Drives continuous improvements by consistently monitoring performance and end-user feedback and adjusting capacity plans
• Initiates and implements continuous innovations given customer experiences and system performance

COMPETENCIES

5 to 10 years experience in leading and managing data platform operations. Must exhibit capability in monitoring, maintaining, and improving system SLAs.

Foundations on:

Complex Data Integration Systems Data Cleansing and Manipulation

Data Modeling and Data Architectures

Operations Best Practices (i.e. ITIL)

End-user Management

Applied knowledge on:

Hadoop Technologies Data Integration, Data Quality, Master Data and Metadata technologies SQL and Unix/Linux Scripting Reporting Technologies such as PowerBI, Tableau, Cognos, etc.

VALUE-ADDED CONTRIBUTIONS

(VAC)

• Initiative internal innovation projects for new and advanced use-cases for use of data in the enterprise.
• Recommends process improvements to operational group to strengthen the data-driven culture of UBP
• Works with Data Privacy and IT Security groups in ensuring proper use and access to information
