Job Summary
The EDSO Data Platform Head is responsible for the ensuring consistent adherence of Enterprise Data Group Solutions to operational SLAs such as server uptime and service availability of EDG System. (Data Storage, ETL/ELT, Data Ingestion, Dashboard, Machine Learning, and APIs) They will safeguard the production environment performance and alignment to Enterprise Data Architecture by ensuring operational standards are met thru design and implementation reviews with development teams and partners. As a EDSO Data Platform Head, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and managing the organization's data infrastructure and platforms. Your primary responsibility is to lead a team in designing, implementing, and maintaining robust data systems that support the company's strategic goals. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, leadership skills, and a deep understanding of data management and analytics. Having direct responsibility over day-to-day operational functions of EDG, the EDSO Data Platform Head will also be in charge of capacity forecasting and continuous improvement initiatives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure all data systems meet operational SLAs for uptime and availability.
- Manage support teams and administrators to implement fixes and improvements.
- Coordinate with end-users to ensure platforms perform as expected.
- Lead operational readiness reviews for new projects.
- Monitor system capacity and utilization; forecast future needs.
- Implement improvements to capacity plans and data models.
- Drive continuous performance enhancements based on feedback and metrics.
- Initiate innovation projects for advanced data use cases.
- Work with Data Privacy and IT Security teams to ensure proper data access.
- Prepare and present operational performance reports to management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, or related field; advanced certifications in data management preferred.
- 510 years of experience managing data platform operations with proven SLA compliance.
- Strong knowledge of data integration, modeling, and architecture.
- Familiarity with Hadoop, SQL, Unix/Linux scripting, and reporting tools (PowerBI, Tableau, Cognos).
- Understanding of ITIL and operations best practices.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to drive innovation and process improvements.
