Role Overview

The candidate will be part of a global team that manages the Operational Data, relevant for the successful operations in most aspects of the TP ICAP group. They will manage a team of data analysts covering a range of Operational Data attributes (e.g. Party Data, Instrument Data, Regulatory Reporting Data etc) across various systems and underlying technology. As such it may be necessary for the successful candidate to work on a shift pattern, and potentially local public holidays, in accordance with the business they support, and appropriate deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Overall responsibility for the management of the team to ensure the execution of Client and Operational Data stewardship responsibilities daily, including:
  • Management and maintenance of a data/systems architecture and governance model for the purposes of assigning ownership/responsibility for data maintenance and change management.
  • Maintaining high quality, clean data by adhering to a strict governance and controls framework.
  • Responsibility for the maintenance and change management of allocated individual system's data as directed by the Global Head of Data Operations.
  • Supporting and developing members of staff.
  • Maintenance of Legal Entity records within the firm's client databases
  • Notifying the Client Lifecycle team of any relevant changes to a legal entities details.
  • Ensure data management compliance within the relevant regulatory & TP ICAP governance frameworks
  • Ensure that all policies and controls that ensure data validation and cleanliness are implemented.
  • Assisting with Data integration projects as well as cross-training and knowledge sharing with team members on dual-branded processes/ services.
  • To support the Global Head of Data Operations and wider team colleagues with various change initiatives and process enhancements.
  • To support the Global Head of Data Operations in engaging with regional teams to ensure that process, procedures and governance are aligned.
  • Assisting with Data integration projects as well as cross-training and knowledge sharing with team members on dual-branded processes/ services.
  • Where delegated responsibility by the Global Head of Data Operations; to act as a liaison to, and provide support for, any internal or external audits.
  • To ensure the team partners with IT and Operations colleagues on technical developments, including requirements gathering, UAT and post-release support.
  • To design and implement necessary change to client data processes (including remediation projects) required for the firm to be compliant with regulatory change.
  • To take ownership of and provide SME support for relevant projects, stepping away from the day-to-day functions, where appropriate, to deliver the project.
  • To engage with regional counterparts as appropriate, to ensure that process, procedures and governance are aligned.
  • To manage the transition of functions and responsibilities into and out of the Client Data team in a manner that ensures strong business risk management.
  • Recruitment, management and development of the client Data team. Talent management, training and development and succession planning for the team while ensuring strong employee engagement of what should be a highly performing, well-motivated team
  • Ensure that all members of the team have the relevant knowledge and training, to ensure that:
  • There are no single points of failure within the team.
  • Cross training and knowledge transfer is implemented and always maintained.
  • All members of staff have sufficient knowledge and experience to ensure that they understand their role as a first line of defence and that our business remains protected.
  • Ensure that any necessary process and procedures are documented and maintained through any relevant changes.

Experience / Competences

Essential
  • Demonstrable experience in managing teams and workloads, within an operations or similar environment.
  • Demonstrable experience in working with large datasets.
  • Demonstrates excellent attention to detail, possesses high organisation skills & a proactive approach
  • Demonstrates strong analytical ability and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrates the ability to work effectively in a high-pressure environment
  • Highly effective written & oral communication skills; adapts communication style to suit audience
  • Shows evidence of being comfortable working in fast paced or pressured environments
  • Experience with working within and reporting in a KPI driven environment
  • Experience with processing in a controls environment and evidence of controls process improvement.
  • Experience in using good judgement and escalate where appropriate.
  • Experience of working in a Corporate/large firm environment
  • Experience in supporting, mentoring and training more junior members of staff, ensuring that levels of support and appropriate controls are always maintained.
  • Skilled in Microsoft applications software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Strong data and analytical skills, including an understanding of various databases and structures.
