Description

We are seeking a talented Google BigQuery Data Engineer to join our data engineering team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working with Google BigQuery, developing complex data models, optimizing SQL queries, creating efficient workflows as well as visualizations. Experience with Looker development will be considered a strong advantage.

  • Required Skills:
  • Develop and manage nested and partitioned tables in Google BigQuery to support scalable data architecture.
  • Design and implement efficient data models that optimize storage, query performance, and data retrieval.
  • Write, optimize, and maintain complex SQL queries and procedures in BigQuery.
  • Ensure that all queries and data transformations are optimized for performance and cost efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain views to support analytics and reporting needs.
  • Working experience with any data visualization tool like Looker
  • Work with stakeholders to develop and optimize reports and dashboards, ensuring data accuracy and timeliness.
  • Design and implement data workflows using BigQuery and other GCP tools to automate data processing and ETL tasks.
  • Collaborate with data engineers and analysts to create and maintain robust data pipelines.
  • Ensure the reliability and scalability of workflows, making adjustments as needed to improve performance.
  • Collaborate with BI teams to integrate BigQuery data into reporting platforms like Looker.
  • Implement and maintain data quality checks and validation processes within BigQuery workflows.
  • Ensure that data is secure, compliant, and follows best practices for data governance.
  • Work closely with data analysts, data scientists, and other stakeholders to understand their data needs and deliver solutions.
  • Communicate technical details to non-technical stakeholders, ensuring they understand the impact of data developments.
  • Participate in code reviews, documentation, and knowledge-sharing sessions to improve team practices.
  • Qualifications:
  • Strong experience with Google BigQuery, including complex SQL, table partitioning, and query optimization.
  • Experience in creating and managing nested and partitioned tables in BigQuery.
  • Proficient in developing and maintaining views, stored procedures, and data models.
  • Hands-on experience with workflow automation tools and techniques in the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) ecosystem.
  • Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and best practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on performance optimization and scalability.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with Looker and LookML development will be a strong added advantage.
  • Willing to work EST day Shift.
