About the Role

We are looking for Data Engineers to join our engineering team as part of our new Manila based offshore team and help build and maintain scalable, high-performance data solutions.

In this role, you will work on data pipelines and integrations that power multiple business domains, including gaming, sportsbook, payments, and marketing. You will operate within a modern, cloud-based ecosystem, leveraging both batch and real-time data processing technologies, with DBT at the core of our data transformation layer.

Working under the guidance of the Manila Team Lead, you will collaborate closely with engineers, product owners, and business stakeholders in both Manila and Malta to deliver reliable, high-quality data products.

What You'll Do

• Build and maintain scalable data pipelines integrating multiple internal and external data sources.
• Develop and maintain real-time and batch data processing solutions using modern data technologies including DBT, Spark, Kafka, and Airflow.
• Develop, maintain, and extend DBT models, tests, macros, and documentation for our data transformation layer.
• Implement and maintain data integrations with third-party platforms (e.g. CRM, marketing, financial systems).
• Support data quality, integrity, and reliability through validation, reconciliation, and monitoring frameworks.
• Contribute to data models across multiple business domains, under the guidance of the Team Lead.
• Build and maintain data services and APIs for internal and external data consumption.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues, participating in on-call support as part of the team rota.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, BI, product, infrastructure) to deliver end-to-end data and marketing solutions.
• Participate in code reviews and follow engineering best practices for testing and deployment.
• Contribute to agile ceremonies and continuously improve engineering practices within the team.

What You Bring

• Experience building and maintaining data pipelines using technologies such as DBT and Apache Airflow.
• Hands-on experience with DBT — including models, tests, and documentation.
• Experience with streaming and real-time data technologies such as Apache Kafka, Spark, or Flink.
• Proficiency in Python and/or Java, with solid software engineering fundamentals.
• Good knowledge of SQL and experience working with relational, columnar, or NoSQL databases (e.g. MySQL, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, MongoDB).
• Experience working with cloud platforms, preferably AWS.
• Familiarity with modern data architectures, including data lakes and lakehouse patterns.
• Data modelling skills and the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Experience working with APIs and data exposure patterns (e.g. REST services).
• Awareness of data quality, monitoring, and observability practices.
• Experience working in Agile environments and contributing to iterative delivery.

Nice to Have

• Experience with, or willingness to adopt, AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Cursor, Claude).
• Experience working with Marketing data domains (campaigns, offers, rewards, customer segmentation).
• Industry experience in gaming or gambling is beneficial but not required.

Salary: Up to Php 192,000/month
