Job Description
We're looking for a part-time Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain reliable data pipelines and infrastructure that support analytics and business reporting. You'll work closely with BigQuery, MongoDB, and reporting tools to ensure data is well-structured, accurate, and readily available for downstream use.
You'll collaborate with the tech, product, and analytics teams to understand data requirements, implement scalable data models, and optimize data flows. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working behind the scenes to make data accessible, consistent, and trustworthy.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and data models in BigQuery.
- Extract, transform, and load (ETL/ELT) data from multiple sources, including MongoDB.
- Optimize BigQuery SQL queries for performance, cost, and reliability.
- Ensure data quality, integrity, and consistency across all datasets and pipelines.
- Support analytics and reporting needs by preparing clean, well-documented datasets.
- Collaborate with internal teams to define data schemas, metrics, and data workflows.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve existing data pipelines and processes.
- Document data architecture, pipeline logic, and best practices.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or a related role.
- Strong proficiency in BigQuery and advanced SQL.
- Experience building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines.
- Hands-on experience working with MongoDB or similar NoSQL databases.
- Ability to transform, validate, and model data from multiple sources.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to data quality and performance.
- Comfortable working independently in a part-time, remote environment.
Bonus:
- Experience with ETL tools, scripting (Python or similar), or API-based data integrations.
- Familiarity with BI tools such as Looker Studio or Redash.

- Must be amenable to meetings between 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM Manila Time (case-to-case basis) to sync with the core team
