This entry-level position performs basic data engineering assignments within a specific engineering functional area or product line.
Accountabilities
- Write Python scripts that automate data collection from target sites, adhering to established data output models.
- Utilize established functions and strategies for web scraping as documented.
- Monitor long-running scripts and debug based on error messages.
- Escalate ticket obstacles to more senior engineers, implementing feedback from code reviews.
- For each ticket assigned, clearly describe progress and obstacles, and log time spent.
- Operate in various development environments while collaborating with key stakeholders.
- Attend regular meetings, ready to describe progress and encountered obstacles.
- Innovate new solutions to new obstacles.
- Resolve basic technical issues as necessary.
- Keep abreast of new technology developments.
- All other duties assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree holder
- Minimum of 1 year experience in Python with technical competencies demonstrated
- Version control system (Git) skills.
- Ability to assist with process improvement and compliance.
- Knowledge of Python, preferably for web scraping.
- Familiarity with Command-Line Interface and UNIX commands.
- Debugging skills.
- Familiarity with IDEs, PyCharm preferred.
- Ability and desire to learn new processes and technologies.
- Problem-solving skills.
- Good attention to detail.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to quickly learn and apply enterprise AI tools and technologies to support technical workflows and business objectives
