Job Description

As a Data Engineer, you will design, build, and optimize scalable data architectures, lead data migration initiatives, and develop robust data pipelines and APIs. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality, reliable data systems that support business-critical insights and global operations.

The Qualifications We Seek

Educational Background

  • Degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Data Analytics, Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer) are a plus.

Experience

  • At least 3 years of experience in data engineering or a related role.
  • Proven experience executing data migration and integration projects.
  • Hands-on experience developing and optimizing data pipelines, GraphQL APIs, and database services.

Required Technical Skills

  • Programming Languages: Proficiency in Python, Java, or Scala.
  • Data Integration: Experience with ETL/ELT tools such as Apache Airflow, AWS Glue, or Talend.
  • Cloud Platforms: Strong expertise in AWS (S3, Redshift, RDS, Lambda) or Azure/GCP.
  • Database Management: Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational and non-relational databases.
  • Big Data Frameworks: Experience with Apache Spark, Hadoop, or Snowflake.
  • Service Development: Knowledge of GraphQL and RESTful API development.
  • Version Control: Proficiency in Git and experience with Bitbucket.
  • Big Data Tools: Familiarity with modern data warehousing and distributed systems.

Your Daily Tasks

Data Architecture Execution

  • Implement and maintain the organization's data architecture to ensure scalability, reliability, and performance.

Data Migration

  • Lead data migration initiatives by designing and executing processes that move data from legacy systems to the new architecture.

Data Centralization & Optimization

  • Build and optimize data pipelines and workflows to centralize data from multiple sources for efficient storage and retrieval.

Database Communication Layer Development

  • Develop service-level APIs or middleware for seamless database interaction, including GraphQL endpoints where applicable.

Collaboration

  • Work closely with data scientists, analysts, and engineers to understand data requirements and deliver effective solutions.

Data Quality Assurance

  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across all systems.

Documentation

  • Create and maintain technical documentation for data processes, pipelines, and architecture.
