About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines, ensuring data integrity, security, and availability, and enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization. This role is an individual contributor position with significant impact on our data infrastructure and business intelligence initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain reliable data pipelines (ETL/ELT) for structured and unstructured data.
- Develop backup and archiving systems to ensure data continuity and availability.
- Consolidate, optimize, and manage data storage solutions for efficient retrieval.
- Monitor system performance and address issues through proactive error handling and logging.
- Implement and enforce data security, access control, and privacy measures.
- Test and validate data pipelines to ensure scalability, reliability, and compliance.
- Support the development of prototypes and proof-of-concepts for data-driven solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate and operationalize business-critical data systems.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- 35 years of experience in data engineering, preferably in automotive distribution, renewable energy, or retail.
- Strong expertise in ETL processes and tools (e.g., Apache NiFi, Talend, or equivalent).
- Proficiency in Python, SQL, and big data frameworks (Hadoop, Spark, Kafka).
- Hands-on experience with relational and NoSQL databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
- Knowledge of cloud-based data warehouses (Google BigQuery, Amazon Redshift, or Snowflake) and platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Familiarity with BI tools (Tableau, Power BI) and data governance frameworks.
- Exposure to machine learning and AI-driven data applications is an advantage.
