Job Description

The Data Architect is responsible for the overall design and the approach to designing both the logical and the physical data architecture of the data warehouse and data lake. The Data Architect should have a broad understanding of data warehousing, ETL, big data, cloud architecture and is responsible for providing technical leadership to the implementation teams

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead the end-to-end design and implementation of the logical and physical data architecture for the Gold Layer, focusing on creating subject-oriented, dimensional models (e.g., Star/Snowflake schemas) optimized for high-volume query performance.

• Define and enforce data standards, naming conventions, metadata management, and data type definitions specific to the consumption layer, ensuring semantic consistency across all critical business domains.

• Design the required aggregation, refinement, and transformation logic (Business Rule Definition) to convert standardized data from the Silver Layer into consumable, ready-to-use Gold Layer tables.

• Develop and maintain comprehensive Source-to-Target Mappings (STMs) that detail the transformation journey from the Silver Layer source to the Gold Layer target tables.

• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the Data Engineering teams responsible for implementing the Gold Layer architecture, ensuring adherence to design specifications and best practices for cloud data processing.

• Conduct Feasibility and Impact Assessments for new data consumption demands and provide estimates for implementation effort.

• Ensure the Gold Layer design scales efficiently to handle Globe Telecom's massive volume of telco data (e.g., CDRs, network logs, customer interactions) and evolving business needs.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.

• A minimum of 5 years of total experience in Data Warehousing, Data Modeling, and ETL/ELT development, with at least 3 years specifically focused on enterprise-level data architecture.

• Proven hands-on experience designing and optimizing dimensional models (Kimball methodology) for large-scale data sets.

• Deep understanding of the Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold Layers) and the specific function of the Gold/Consumption Layer.
