Job Responsibilities:
Data Collection and Processing
- Collect, integrate, and model data from multiple sources (databases, spreadsheets, APIs) for use in Power BI datasets.
- Clean, transform, and preprocess raw data using Power Query to ensure accuracy, consistency, and optimal performance in reports.
- Build reusable and scalable data models that support recruitment and business reporting needs.
Reporting, Dashboards & Visualization
- Design and deliver interactive Power BI dashboards and reports
- Create clear, visually compelling reports that enable stakeholders to explore data and self-serve insights.
- Apply best practices in visual design, usability, and storytelling to maximize stakeholder adoption.
Power BI Dataset Optimization & Governance
- Tidy, refactor, and optimize existing Power BI datasets to improve refresh speed, reliability, and long-term maintainability.
- Implement efficient data models, relationships, and measures to support enterprise-scale reporting.
- Ensure datasets are structured for easy expansion with new recruitment data points.
Microsoft Fabric & Data Platform
- Leverage Microsoft Fabric to support end-to-end analytics workflows, including data ingestion, transformation, and semantic modeling for Power BI.
- Work with Fabric components (e.g., Lakehouse, Warehouses) to centralize enterprise data for scalable and governed reporting.
- Collaborate with data engineers and platform teams to align Power BI datasets with Fabric-based data architecture and best practices.
SQL and Querying requirements
- Write and optimize SQL queries to extract, join, and aggregate data from relational data sources for use in Power BI and Fabric.
- Use SQL to validate data accuracy, reconcile discrepancies, and support troubleshooting across reporting layers.
- Apply SQL performance and modeling best practices to ensure reliable and efficient data delivery.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and goals.
- Collaborate with reporting consultants and analysts to align Power BI solutions with organizational standards.
- Translate business questions into effective Power BI solutions.
Problem Solving & Data Troubleshooting
- Diagnose and resolve data quality, performance, and modeling issues within Power BI reports and datasets.
- Proactively identify reporting gaps and opportunities for automation or enhancement.
Projects & Delivery
- Extract and format data to meet specific Power BI visualization and reporting outcomes, under guidance from reporting consultants.
- Design Power BIready data pipelines that allow seamless injection of new data and modification of existing metrics.
- Deliver end-to-end Power BI solutions from data ingestion to final dashboard deployment.
Continuous Improvement & Best Practices
- Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies.
- Stay current with Power BI features, DAX improvements, and analytics best practices.
- Continuously improve reporting frameworks, dataset design, and visualization standards.
- Recommend and implement enhancements that improve recruitment reporting efficiency and insight quality.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science).
- Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Fabric, SQL, Excel, Python, or R.
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills to convey complex findings to non-technical stakeholders.
- Track record of creating dashboards (extracting data, transforming and presenting)
- Detail-oriented with a passion for accuracy in data.
- Quant experience/Maths background (desirable)
- Financial services experience, ideally in Equities (desirable)
