Essential Functions
- Serve as an internal expert in dashboard development to support the company through a growth phase as we integrate multiple sources of data into unified dashboards
- Work from data sources and user requirements to design and build new dashboards
- Support best practice dashboard design, visualizations, user management, and documentation
- Partner with internal stakeholders to create new models, looks, and dashboards
- Collaborate with developers to create databases and repositories, including proper field documentation and exploration of joins
- Conduct data profiling, sampling, and validation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency of reports and dashboards
- Implement data verification methods (e.g., reconciliation against source systems, random sampling, anomaly detection) to confirm reliability of business-critical metrics
- Gain an understanding of the business and data inputs to validate report data, provide analysis summaries, and deep dive anomalies/outliers
- Develop and maintain documentation on data sources, validation methods, and data lineage to support transparency and reproducibility
- Provide recommendations for improving data quality and processes
- Exhibit a strong ability to interpret data and present to the Executive Team and other leaders
Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred
- At least 3 - 5 years experience in analytics and/or BI tool support, building dashboards, and validating data
- Demonstrated experience applying data sampling and validation techniques (e.g., control totals, outlier analysis, reconciliations, statistical sampling)
- Experience in data analytics or related quantitative fields, with an understanding of data manipulation and the relationships between different data sources
- Strong knowledge of relational database design and data warehousing concepts
- Knowledge of best practices for dashboard design
- Familiarity with QA processes, UAT testing, or statistical methods for ensuring accuracy of analytical outputs
- Industry experience within help desk, managed services, or retail preferred
- Strong proficiency in SQL, preferably in BigQuery
- Experience with ETL tools such as DBT
- Experience with Git or other version control systems preferred
- Ability to effectively use communication tools to work within a team that works remotely
- Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to explain data and dashboards to audiences with varied technical skills
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Desire to work in an entrepreneurial environment and take ownership of responsibilities
- Experience managing project ambiguity, complexity, and interdependencies in a structured way
- Adaptability, flexibility, and willingness to work within changing priorities, including ad hoc requests.
- Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment with a strong sense of accountability and attention to detail
