The Qualifications We Seek
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, International Trade, Law, or a related field
- Minimum 5 years of proven experience in customs compliance and tariff classification
- Strong, demonstrable knowledge of US HTS classification and US import processes
- Experience in US-bound importation; candidates with only local Philippine import experience will not be considered
- Background in medical devices, pharmaceuticals, or other highly regulated industries such as aerospace and automotive preferred
- Recognized customs qualification (e.g., Level 4 Customs Practitioner) preferred
Your Daily Tasks
Technical Classification
- Determine and maintain accurate HTSUS (US), UK Trade Tariff, EU TARIC, and Canadian Customs Tariff codes
US Broker Liaison
- Act as the primary technical contact for US brokers
- Resolve clearance queries and ensure correct entry
Defensible Logic
- Conduct technical product analysis
- Provide documented rationale for classification decisions using GIRs and Explanatory Notes
Regulatory Alignment
- Support US FDA import requirements, product coding, and listings
Audit Readiness
- Maintain a rigorous audit trail
- Ensure zero material findings during internal or external customs audits
