Job Description

The Custody Services Officer is responsible for providing operational support to the day-to-day custody business transactions and relevant activities, and acting as point of contact for Institutional clients and Account Officers for any custody business related transactions

Core Responsibilities:

  • Oversee settlement of securities in registries, depositories, brokers, counterparties, and custodians per client instructions
  • Oversee settlement of cash in designated cash settlement accounts per client instructions
  • Facilitate lodgment and upliftment of equity securities
  • Safekeep physical securities as instructed by clients
  • Monitors and checks the reconciliation of the securities and cash being safekept in different cash settlement accounts, registries, depositories and/or other custodians
  • Checks and approves the encoding of the securities and cash being safekept in BPI Wealth
  • Monitors all voluntary and mandatory corporate action events and ensures timely and accurate notification to clients of any that are related to their securities
  • Ensures that all client instructions on voluntary corporate actions are collated and instructed accurately in a timely manner
  • Ensures proper coordination with different registries, depositories, and government agencies to facilitate any corporate action related activity
  • Monitors the settlement and approves the instructions to deliver/remit securities and cash to clients related to all voluntary and mandatory corporate actions
  • Ensures proper facilitation of fund ordering and settlement as instructed by clients
  • Ensures proper coordination and assistance to clients and other relevant parties on any tax related documentation and reclaim service that the client might need
  • Monitors and checks proper creation and delivery of client reports, certifications, and statements

Qualifications:

  • Business course graduate; Preferably with MBA/Masters in Economics, Finance
  • Preferably with experience in a managerial role in the field of custody services
  • Keen on details, effective communication skills, proficient in both oral and written communication, computer literate, team-based and result-based orientation, people management, organizational, and analytical process-based skills
