Are you an experienced Estimator with a keen eye for detail and a passion for commercial and industrial construction projects Our dynamic and growing construction client, based in Melbourne, Australia, is seeking a dedicated full-time Estimator to join our team. This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in our business development, working alongside the Construction Director, to secure new projects and support our ongoing construction endeavors. What You'll Achieve:

  • Project Pipeline Growth: Support the company in building a robust pipeline of new projects by accurately preparing tenders and pricing, contributing to the company's expansion into new childcare and industrial developments.
  • Efficient Tender Management: Streamline the tendering process by independently managing takeoffs, bill of quantities, and subcontractor quote requests, allowing Xavier to focus on strategic project assembly and client engagement.
  • Seamless Project Handovers: Provide critical estimating support during the design and tendering phases, ensuring comprehensive and precise documentation that facilitates smooth transitions to John for the construction phase.
  • Operational Excellence: Enhance overall project efficiency by assisting with administrative tasks and bill of quantities for live jobs, directly contributing to the successful execution of our active and upcoming projects.

What You'll Need:

  • Proven Estimating Experience: Demonstrated experience in estimating, with a preference for commercial and industrial projects within the Melbourne or broader Australian market.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong capability in performing detailed takeoffs, creating accurate bills of quantities, and thoroughly reviewing construction drawings.
  • Software Skills: Proficiency in Excel for all estimating and quantity surveying tasks.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written communication for preparing professional quote requests and corresponding with subcontractors.
  • Educational Background: A degree in Civil Engineering or a related field is highly desirable.
  • Work Ethic: A proactive and autonomous approach to work, coupled with a willingness to learn and adapt to company-specific processes.
  • Team Collaboration: Ability to integrate effectively with a remote team, treating the role as an essential full-time extension of our Melbourne-based operations.
