JOB SUMMARY
The QS Assistant Manager, manages and plans all costs associated with all types of SMDC construction projects, from outset until completion. Above all, the function is concerned with doing the best possible job at the best possible price.
YOUR ROLE, YOUR IMPACT
- Oversee the activities and performance of the Supervisors during bill of quantities and budget preparation.
- Attend design coordination meeting and provide inputs which may affect project cost.
- Reviewing of Plans, Design and Specifications, from Design Development (DD) up to For Construction Drawings (FCD) for possible conflicts.
- Establishing and consolidating of the total project cost of SMDC projects (i.e. materials, labor, and services costs).
- Maintain and update Project Historical Records and Cost Database for Civil, Structural, Architectural, Mechanical, Electrical, Fire Protection and Plumbing/Sanitary (MEFPS), including equipment and amenities, that will be used as baseline for Budget Preparation and Cost Monitoring of proposed, new and current projects.
- Consolidates the Bill of Materials/Quantities (BOM/BOQ) and Budget Estimates of proposed projects.
- Preparation and development of preliminary cost plans and unit cost analysis.
- Collate and compile of site/project documents (PO's, BOQ's & etc.) to assist in the monitoring of cost implications of updated unit rates to upcoming projects.
- Liaise and coordinate with Engineering Group including actual site verification as needed
- Oversee the attainment of project timelines.
- Ensure key stakeholders provide input and address concerns/issues
- Conduct post-estimate analysis and debrief sessions to identify areas of improvement and implement lessons learned for future costings.
- Continuously refine and improve processes, templates, and best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Stay updated on industry trends, market insights, and emerging best practices in cost estimates.
- Working closely with Designer, Engineering, Project Development and Procurement Group.
- Perform other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Bachelor's Degree in any Engineering from a reputable College or University and preferably with a valid PRC licensed or its equivalent.
- At least with 7 years of solid work experience related to Quantity Surveying specifically on bid and budget preparation services.
- Well acquainted with the Philippine Market, Construction Price Index.
- Strong financial awareness in respect of costing and pricing.
- Strong ability to analyze and interpret data.
- Excellent project management and time management skills.
- Specialist experience in buildings, commercial and framework projects.
- Good attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good and effective negotiation skills.
- Methodical and accurate documentation.
- Ability to meet deadlines in a timely manner.
- Excellent leadership, communication (written, verbal and presentation) and interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated, decisive, with the ability to adapt to change and competing demands.
- High level of proficiency in Bluebeam, AutoCAD, MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of basic office procedures and ability to operate office equipment.
