Job Summary
The Cost Accounting Officer is responsible for managing and optimizing the cost accounting processes for Atlanta and FEAPC, ensuring accurate production costs and financial reporting. This role involves setting up standard prodictio0n costs in SAP, calculating monthly actual processing costs, and maintaining standard costs for materials produced. The position also includes generating monthly inventory valuation reports, collaborating with cross-functional teams to create accurate budgets, and overseeing the timely completion of month-end tasks and reconciliations. Additionally, the Cost Accounting Officer improves financial controls, manages agency billing, and supervises the processing of delivery expenses and freight charges.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Set Up standard production of Atlanta and FEAPC for the year in SAP.
- Calculate the actual processing costs for Atlanta and FEAPC from SAP detailed expenses on a monthly basis.
- Maintain standard cost for each material produced in the SAP system for both Atlanta and FEAPC, and implement updates every three months.
- Utilize the use of SAPs Internal Order feature to monitor and record expenses from special project, asset acquisition and asset construction in progress.
- Generate comprehensive monthly inventory valuation report for both Atlanta and FEAPC, including a detailed comparison from the SAP Inventory report.
- Work closely with teams from multipole departments including Finance, Production, HR ad Sales, to create accurate budgets for the fiscal year, ensuring that the needs for each department were met.
- Ensured all plant expenses, reconciliations, and month-end tasks were completed on time each month for Atlanta and FEAPC, meeting the head offices closing requirements.
- Improved controls for material issuance, adjustments, and intercompany transactions by creating clear procedures and ensuring their effective implementation across the plant.
- Led the EDP department I daily data entry for PCs production and consumption, ensuring timely processing fewer complaints about outdated encoding.
- Processed Agency/COOP billing on time, coordinated reconciliation to ensure accurate payments, and ensured timely recording of manpower expenses and endorsement to payables.
- Supervise the monitoring, processing and recording of delivery expenses, trucking and freight charges, ensuring timely payments and accurate monthly accruals.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or any related field; a Masters degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) is an advantage.
- At least 3 years of experience in cost accounting, with a minimum of 1 year in a managerial or leadership role, preferably in a manufacturing of production environment
- Proficiency in SAP (particularly with standard costing, inventory management, and internal orders).
- Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles, financial reporting, and budgeting.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and data analysis.
- Strong ability to analyze financial data, identify cost trends, and provide actionable insights to senior management.
- Knowledge of industry-specific cost accounting practices and financial regulations; ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
