Work Hours: Monday to Friday, 06:00 AM - 02:30 AM PDT, with a 30-minute break
Salary: $1,500 - $2,000/month
Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Controller to oversee the accounting operations of a fast-paced, multi-entity investment and asset management firm. Reporting directly to the CFO, this role is essential to maintaining financial integrity, ensuring accurate reporting, and supporting strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate has a strong background in fund or real estate accounting, hands-on experience managing a full accounting cycle, and a proven ability to thrive in dynamic, high-growth environments. Proficiency in Sage Intacct is preferred, along with a sharp eye for process improvements and internal controls.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual closes across multiple entities and investment vehicles
- Prepare internal financial statements, budget vs. actual analyses, and management reports
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and company policies
- Assist in preparing audit documentation and coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors
- Implement and maintain robust internal controls and accounting procedures
- Collaborate with the CFO on financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting
- Supervise and support junior accounting staff or outsourced accounting partners
- Optimize accounting workflows using Sage Intacct and other financial systems
- Support financial reporting needs for investors, lenders, and senior leadership
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA preferred)
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or controllership, preferably in investment, fund, or real estate environments
- Strong understanding of GAAP, fund accounting, and multi-entity structures
- Proficiency in Sage Intacct is preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and CRM platforms such as HubSpot or Salesforce
- High attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills
- Experience with audit preparation and financial controls
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
