Job Summary
The Controller is responsible for a variety of basic accounting functions such as receiving and releasing payments, preparing and releasing vouchers, and the preparation of reports. Everyone in the accounting department is expected to be familiar with the jobs of other accounting staff of the same rank or lower. Accuracy and timeliness are required for all accounting functions
Duties, Functions, and Responsibilities
- Prepares and monitors school budget
- Ensures school compliance with government regulatory agency requirements
- Ensures implementation of approved finance operating policies and guidelines
- Review requests for disbursements to ensure validity, completeness, and accuracy of supporting documents
- Ensure effective internal controls for the schools
- Accomplishes other responsibilities assigned by the CFO
- Closely coordinates with the COO on day-to-day operations
- Review and analyze school financial statements for submission to the COO and CFO
- Manages aspects of Finance operations - treasury, payroll, purchasing, student assessments, bookstore operations, general accounting
- Ensure timely remittance of reports to government and other regulatory bodies
- Ensure timely submission of reports to BIR, SEC and other regulatory bodies
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field
- Certified Public Accountant
- Audit skills
- Strong analytical skills
- Knowledgeable with compliance with government regulatory agencies
- Strong people management skills
