As a Category Insights Manager, you are the lead person in conducting business performance analysis, market evaluation studies and consumer insights building for the category.
Business Performance Analysis
Integrates economic and consumer findings with internal performance and comes up with business implications
Analyzes the industry and brand performance as they relate to the operational and strategic environments
Interprets research findings (using appropriate statistical methods and inferences) and draws out conclusions and business implications
Ensures that consumer intelligence is used effectively to optimize sales and marketing plans
Develops case studies that will document key learning from product launches, campaigns, etc.
Market Evaluation Studies
Identifies consumer intelligence gaps and research needs based on marketing plans
Conducts desk research on identified gaps
Identifies the research methods/procedures to use
Coordinates the overall conduct of the study
Consumer Insights Building
Advances understanding of consumers through study of other categories; observation of changing consumer tastes and preferences; global trends
