Construction Controller

We are seeking an experienced Controller to oversee all financial operations within a fast-paced, multi-entity construction environment. This is a hands-on leadership role, not a passive reporting position. You will be responsible for full accounting oversight, financial accuracy, compliance, forecasting, and internal controls across multiple companies.

The ideal candidate is a CPA with strong construction accounting experience, highly detail-oriented, comfortable working with U.S. regulations, and capable of managing complex financial structures with minimal supervision.

This role requires someone who can own the numbers, challenge assumptions, and provide clear financial direction to leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all accounting operations: AP, AR, Payroll, General Ledger, and financial reporting
• Oversee month-end and year-end close across multiple entities
• Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
• Ensure full compliance with GAAP and state tax regulations
• Maintain strong internal controls and financial procedures
• Perform account reconciliations and cash flow tracking
• Support executive leadership with financial modeling and planning
• Review capital expenditures and cost optimization opportunities
• Manage payroll, benefits, and tax reporting accuracy
• Supervise accounting staff and maintain performance standards
• Handle complex accounting issues and technical compliance
• Perform financial analysis and special projects as required

Requirements

• CPA license required
• Minimum 5 years accounting experience in construction industry
• Experience working with U.S.-based companies required
• Strong QuickBooks experience required
• Advanced Excel skills required
• Experience with ERP / project accounting systems preferred
• Strong knowledge of GAAP required
• Experience managing multi-entity accounting required
• Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment
