Job Summary:
Responsible for delivering occupational health nursing services including implementation and evaluation of health maintenance and health education programs.
Role Description:
MEDICAL SERVICES
- Monitors the health conditions of employees.
- Provides on-site emergency care (first aid treatment) providing medications, health assessments and referrals. Bring employees to hospital in cases when the clinic does not have the facility to treat sickness or accident/s.
- Advises company doctor about serious incidents and situations which may pose risks to employees.
- Takes vital signs such as temperature, blood pressure, pulse rate, etc. during employee consultations.
- Documents medical findings in the employee's medical record.
- Dispenses standard drugs and medicines such as aspirin and cough or cold tablets, ensuring that correct control, storage and administration of drugs and medicines are undertaken.
- Follows-up laboratory results of sick employees.
- Submits laboratory/diagnostics results to the company doctor.
- Assesses medical condition and initiates action for necessary medical management.
- Checks and monitors employees entitlement to dental benefits. Issues referral to dentist/s
- Conducts home or hospital visits, when necessary.
HEALTH AND SAFETY
- Arranges safety and health seminars, programs, and information campaign.
- Conducts regular worksite walk-through assessments to determine employee work processes and potential sources of illness and injury. Monitors employee safety, sanitation, and grooming.
- Counsels employees on health maintenance, results of health screenings and health promotion activities;
- Recommends occupational health and safety programs. Establishes tie-ups with government, non-government organizations (NGOs), social and health institutions for possible assistance in implementing health programs
- Coordinates and monitors activities of First Aiders
OTHERS
- Make round in Production and other department every two (2) hours) to check the following:
- Temperature per area
- Blood pressure (monitoring) in random employees to old and new building
- Compliance of sewers in line with wearing proper uniform, hairnet and closed shoes (crocs, slippers not allowed)
- Employees using mobile phones in the production area. (Once caught in the act, report immediately to the HR in charge)
- Employees bringing food or eating inside the Production area.
- Comfort rooms pf production area and report incident of non-compliance to cleanliness of utility personnel.
- Performs all other related duties that may be assigned from time to time.
Qualifications
- College Degree in Nursing
- Licensure in Nursing; Certified First Aider
- Ability to administer medical aid in emergency situations.
- Ability to work in high pressure situations and remain calm in medical emergencies.
- Extensive knowledge of nursing principles and procedures.
- Extensive knowledge of workplace hazards and safety risks.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
- Preferably with BOSH Training Certificate.
- Physically able to administer medical aid.
- Willing to be assigned in Maybunga, Pasig City (Monday to Saturday)
- Willing to start immediately
