As Commercial Senior Analyst, The primary function of this role is to manage the end-to-end commercial fuel supply chain for both operated and non-operated power assets. This involves a dual focus:
- External Market Mastery: Securing high-value fuel (Coal, Oil, Gas) and freight through strategic sourcing, expert negotiation, and rigorous market intelligence.
- Internal Operational Synergy: Collaborating with plant engineers and business units to ensure that fuel quality aligns with plant efficiency and power sales obligations to achieve the lowest Value-in-Use (ViU) costs.
In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
- The role is responsible for assisting the Fuels Commercial Team in activities such as sourcing, negotiating, contracting, andmanaging suitable suppliers for Fuel (Coal, Oil and Gas), Ocean Freight as well as monitoring the relevant industries and markets to guide in decision making and to identify emerging opportunities and/or risks for both AP Operated and Non-Operated sites.
- The role also assists in coordinating with Power Station Operations as well as AP Commercial Business Unit to ensure best value-in-use fuel costs by ensuring synergism between fuel costs, plant efficiency and compatibility with power sales agreements and/or sales strategy.
- The role will provide assistance in FMT endeavors in Growing Business and Risk Management.
To Succeed in this Role, we need someone who:
- Proficient in MS Office application and any Plant Maintenance System (Maximo, Google Workspace, etc.)
- Basic knowledge in report writing.
- Knowledgeable in import/export procedure, customs clearance and import/export documentation.
- Knowledgeable in Quality, Health, Safety and Environment management systems, safety rules and associated legislation.
- Can provide intelligence to the senior management team by providing accurate information on supplier/miners including production cycles, logistics issues and expansion plans.
- Fluent to comprehend, speak, read, write English and basic mathematics.
What You Will Need:
Education & Experience:
- Graduate of Business, Mathematics or Engineering Courses
- Professional: At least combined three (3) years experience in Supply Chain Management/Logistics or 5 years in any department of a Coal-fired Powerplant
- Solid understanding of contract terms, LC terms and related commercial documents
