Job Title: Commercial Analysis Manager

Reporting to: Head of Commercial Analysis

Role Summary

The Commercial Analysis Manager plays a critical role in supporting revenue growth and strategic decision-making by delivering robust commercial, financial, and market analysis across the energy portfolio. Working closely with the Business Development Team and Chief Revenue Officer, this role evaluates new opportunities, optimizes commercial performance, and provides data-driven insights to guide investments, partnerships, and revenue strategies across power generation, energy trading, and related infrastructure.

This position bridges commercial strategy and financial analytics, ensuring that business development initiatives are commercially viable, competitive, and aligned with the company's long-term growth objectives.

Key Responsibilities

1. Commercial Strategy & Revenue Analysis

  • Provide analytical support to the Head of Commercial Analysis, CRO and Business Development team in shaping revenue strategies and commercial models.
  • Evaluate profitability, pricing strategies, and revenue streams across energy assets and new business opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain financial and commercial models to assess project viability, tariffs, offtake structures, and investment returns.
  • Conduct scenario analysis and sensitivity testing to support strategic decision-making.

2. Business Development Support

  • Partner with Business Development in evaluating new energy projects (e.g., power plants, renewable projects, LNG, or infrastructure).
  • Lead commercial due diligence including market sizing, competitive benchmarking, and financial feasibility.
  • Support structuring of commercial agreements such as Power Supply Agreements (PSA), Energy Supply Agreements (ESA), and other offtake arrangements.
  • Prepare business cases and investment papers for senior leadership and board approval.

3. Market & Industry Intelligence

  • Monitor energy market trends, regulatory developments, pricing movements, and competitor activity.
  • Analyze demand and supply dynamics, fuel price movements, and tariff developments affecting the company's portfolio.
  • Provide insights on emerging opportunities, risks, and market shifts impacting revenue and commercial strategy.

4. Performance Monitoring & Reporting

  • Develop dashboards and reporting tools to track revenue performance, margins, and commercial KPIs.
  • Analyze variances between actual and projected performance and recommend corrective actions.
  • Support monthly and quarterly commercial performance reviews with senior leadership.

5. Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Finance, Operations, Regulatory, and Business Development teams to ensure alignment of commercial assumptions and financial outcomes.
  • Collaborate with asset management teams to optimize contract performance and revenue realization.
  • Support negotiations by providing data-driven insights and commercial scenarios.

6. Process & Systems Improvement

  • Establish standardized commercial modeling templates and evaluation frameworks.
  • Enhance data analytics capabilities and tools to improve commercial decision support.
  • Drive continuous improvement in commercial evaluation and reporting processes.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Business, or related field; MBA or relevant master's degree preferred.
  • 812+ years of experience in commercial analytics, corporate finance, investment analysis, or business development within the energy, infrastructure, or utilities sector.
  • Strong experience in financial modeling, project evaluation, and commercial structuring.
  • Deep understanding of energy markets, power generation economics, and regulatory environments is highly preferred.
  • Experience supporting senior executives (e.g., CRO, CFO, or CEO) in strategic decision-making.
