Cloud Engineer GCP & Terraform Expert

Role Overview: As a Cloud Engineer, you will be instrumental in designing, deploying, and managing scalable and secure cloud infrastructures on GCP using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices, primarily with Terraform. You'll partner closely with cross-functional teams to deliver mission-critical projects for our clients and help drive NCS's vision of advancing communities through technology.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and manage GCP cloud infrastructures using Terraform for automated, repeatable deployments.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and project teams to define cloud solution architecture and requirements.
• Develop, test, and maintain IaC templates and modules for various GCP services (Compute, Storage, Networking, IAM, Security).
• Implement CI/CD pipelines and automate cloud resource provisioning.
• Monitor, optimise, and troubleshoot GCP environments for performance, security, and cost efficiency.
• Integrate cloud solutions with existing infrastructure and services.
• Support cloud migration initiatives and ensure compliance with security and governance best practices.
• Maintain technical documentation and provide training/mentoring to junior engineers.
• Stay updated on latest GCP services, best practices, and industry trends.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience in designing and implementing solutions on GCP.
• Advanced expertise in Terraform and Infrastructure as Code workflows (HCL, module creation, state management).
• Strong understanding of cloud security, networking, IAM, and DevOps practices.
• Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI).
• Scripting experience in Python, Bash or similar languages.
• Familiarity with containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
• GCP Professional Certification or equivalent is desirable.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
