Cloud Engineer

Overall purpose, duties and responsibilities of the role:

The Cloud Engineer oversees provisioning, building, and operating all cloud related technologies within Eastwest Ageas Insurance. He/She is responsible for maintaining and monitoring all Azure, AWS and PaaS software.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Consulting with stakeholders on strategies for deployment of new cloud technology implementations, monitoring and optimization of existing equipment

2. Primary Global Admin and point person for Azure, and WAF topics. This would range from Designing, Building, Operating and maintaining the said systems.

3. Delivering end-to-end infrastructure management solutions in a cloud environment

4. Ensure that Microsoft Secure Score is compliant with Agreed levels with Governance and Audit.

5. Improving infrastructure operations through better use of monitoring, cloud coding and scripting best practices

6. Automating infrastructure migration to cloud environments

7. Implementing cloud governance, build, deployment and monitoring standards for the clients

8. On Prem or Cloud Virtual Machine provisioning.

9. Participates in the assessment and testing of new products introduced by the vendor for EWA.

10. Secures EWA connectivity by providing monthly maintenance support to all On-Prem and local Virtual Machines.

11. Updates and provides security patches to EWA Infrastructure systems.

12. Responsible for administering and troubleshooting IT Security solutions and tools.

13. Liaises with IT Security & Governance Team in configuring and maintaining security solutions and tools (i.e. anti-virus software, and patch management)

Essential Skills / Qualifications:

1. Bachelor (4-year) degree, with a technical major, such as engineering or computer science/information technology and other computer courses.

2. At least 3 years Active Directory experience

3. At least 3 years Azure AD and cloud administration.

4. Proficient in troubleshooting Windows Server, And Linux Operating Systems.

5. Knowledge in Cloud Technology (AWS, Azure, IBM Cloud) is an advantage.

6. Knowledge in IT Service Management process and ITIL Framework is an advantage.
