Secondary Location: Malaysia or Asian countries (Must align with Japan Standard Time)

Role Type: Hands-on Delivery / Migration Focused

Job Summary

We are seeking a proactive, hands-on Cloud Solutions Architect to drive the day-to-day execution of a large-scale enterprise cloud migration. In this role, you will bridge the gap between high-level strategy and technical execution, working closely with the Senior Architect to translate architecture decisions into actionable migration plans.

You will be the technical engine of the migration lifecycle—managing everything from initial discovery and dependency mapping to hypercare and final operational handover.

Key Responsibilities

1. Discovery & Design

• Current-State Analysis: Perform deep-dive discovery and dependency mapping across legacy application environments.
• Gap Analysis: Conduct assessments against target platform standards and approved cloud services.
• Target Architecture: Design compliant, scalable architectures utilizing approved service catalogs, AMIs, and Terraform modules.

2. Migration Planning & Execution

• Strategy Classification: Categorize components using the 6-Rs methodology (Rehost, Re-platform, Refactor, etc.).
• Wave Planning: Define and sequence migration waves to minimize business disruption.
• Environment Readiness: Ensure technical parity and readiness across Dev, QA, Pre-Prod, and Production stages.

3. Validation & Operational Readiness

• Testing Coordination: Define and execute test scenarios, including performance profiling, failover testing, and technical dry runs.
• Operational Handover: Contribute to the creation of runbooks, monitoring/alerting logic, and vulnerability management workflows.
• Hypercare: Provide dedicated support during the immediate post-migration phase to ensure stability and performance.

Required Skills & Competencies

AWS Core

Mastery of VPC/Networking, IAM, Security, Compute, Storage, and RDS.

Modernization

Proven experience in stateless architecture, autoscaling, containerization, and DB pooling.

Automation

Proficiency in Terraform using standardized modules and templates (IaC).

Governance

Experience working within landing zones, guardrails, and strict compliance controls.

Testing

Ability to lead SIT, UAT, and failover strategy sessions.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)

• Frameworks: Experience with the AWS Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF).
• ITSM: Familiarity with ITIL 4 (Incident, Problem, and Change Management).
• Sector Experience: Background in regulated industries or high-traffic e-commerce/loyalty platforms.
• Collaboration: Experience working as a liaison between platform teams, third-party service providers, and client stakeholders.
