CLINICAL NURSE EDUCATOR

REPORTING TO: Education Manager

LOCATION: Philippines

SCHEDULE: 4 days onsite at SM Mega Tower

IGH seeks to build an academy in the Philippines to develop our international nursing program. This academy will educate, empower and prepare our nurses to be successful healthcare practitioners in the US healthcare settings.

This role will be responsible for conducting the clinical education activities within GRIT Academy, ensuring that all training and workshops are delivered effectively and efficiently

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate with the Education Manager/Director of Clinical Education and Development, and the Education Team of our Healthcare System Partners in developing educational materials and activities for the nurses.
  • Ensure that educational materials are up-to-date and aligned with emerging trends such as clinical practice changes, professional development, and healthcare policy updates.
  • Support the assessment and design of educational plans; implement, and evaluate educational programs and projects (orientations, continuing education, competencies, and simulations) for nurse trainees
  • Maintain and monitor/track nurse's performance throughout the program (classroom and simulation)
  • Provide objective evaluation of the nurse's clinical competence using a standardized rubric or competency checklist
  • Assess nurse's progress and development within the program and regularly provide objective feedback and constructive criticism to improve performance
  • Develop a performance improvement plan on areas that are identified as needing improvement and re-evaluate as per specified timeline
  • Insert themselves to mentor, train and assist nurses that require additional support
  • Prepare a monthly report on overall class performance and provide feedback to IGH Leadership and Healthcare System Partners on curriculum and what needs to be modified, updated or clarified
  • Organize, update and disseminate a calendar of activities and ensure that all educational activities are well coordinated
  • Monitor the key performance indicators for education including but not limited to: (a) enrollment rates; (b) modules completion rates; (c) dropout/attrition rates; (d) attendance rates, and any other metrics identified by the team
  • Provide mentorship for soft skills, communication skills, English speaking ability, and ability to be vocal
  • Assume various roles, including but not limited to educator/facilitator, change agent/team member, consultant, leader, communicator, collaborator, advisor, and mentor.
  • Become competent with all new equipment within the GRIT Academy
  • Integrate findings of current practice literature and regulatory updates into educational activities
  • Maintain educational and clinical competencies appropriate for role
  • Maintain flexibility when managing multiple roles and responsibilities
  • Serve as a role model for education and promotes the concept of lifelong learning

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Registered Nurse (preferably licensed in both Philippines and US)
  • At least 2-5 years clinical/bedside practice
  • At least one year experience in Education (Clinical/Academia)
  • Preferably with experience in leadership
  • At least BSN degree holder; Preferably with Master's Degree in Nursing or Education
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Knowledge of Adult Learning Principles
  • Experience teaching/precepting individuals or groups of students/professional nurses
