Job Summary
We are looking for a Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) Team Leader to lead and support a team of CDI Specialists in delivering accurate, complete, and compliant clinical documentation. This role oversees team performance, quality assurance, physician query management, and collaboration with onshore stakeholders to ensure documentation reflects the appropriate severity of illness and supports accurate coding and reimbursement.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise, coach, and develop a team of CDI Specialists while monitoring productivity and quality metrics.
- Oversee clinical documentation reviews, physician queries, and documentation quality audits.
- Ensure compliance with CDI standards, coding guidelines, HIPAA, and client-specific requirements.
- Collaborate with onshore CDI, Coding, HIM, and Revenue Cycle teams to support program goals.
- Prepare productivity, quality, and trend reports while driving process improvements and maintaining CDI workflows.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Physical Therapy, or any Allied Health program; CDI certifications are an advantage.
- At least 5 years of Clinical Documentation Improvement experience, including 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of US healthcare documentation, ICD-10-CM/PCS coding, DRGs, and physician query best practices.
- Experience using CDI platforms such as Solventum/3M, Nuance, Optum, Epic, or similar systems.
- Excellent leadership, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
