Description:

The Team Lead for the Clinical Documentation Integrity team will work closely with the CDI manager to assist with activities involving the CDI department and/or contracted client sites. The success of the CDI Team is defined by high quality work, efficient productivity, strong adherence to workflow, and building a strong team culture.

In this role, the successful candidate will be flexible and have great communication skills, effective problem-solving abilities, team player, and a strong work ethic.

Responsibilities:

  • Supports the development of facility specific policy & procedures, process flow maps, communication, and education plans
  • Provides resolution to CDI activities and coding issues

Works with the CDI Manager to develop team metric reports to illustrate the CDI team's revenue & quality impacts

  • Independently delivers on objectives with understanding of how they impact the results of own area/team and other related teams
  • Collaborates with client sites to resolve documentation discrepancies / opportunities
  • Work directly with assigned clients on continuous improvement of complete and accurate documentation and diagnosis coding
  • Maintain the accuracy of records and review activities to comply with departmental and regulatory agency guidelines
  • Assists with approved education to members of the patient care & CDI teams as needed
  • Stays current with AHA Official Coding and Reporting Guidelines and AHA Coding Clinics, AHRQ, CMS and other agency directives for ICD-10 and coding compliance.
  • Work independently at office setting.
  • Participate in the education and onboarding of new staff
  • Maintain a defined expected number of initial and follow up case reviews as allowed by other responsibilities and directed by immediate supervisor/leadership
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Must be a BS Nursing Graduate
  • At least 3-5 years of recent experience in the hospital setting (ICU, Medical-Surgical, Emergency Department, or Telemetry)
  • Must have an active USRN license(Mainland)
  • Willing to work on-site
