Job Title: Clean Energy Impact Analyst
Experience Level: 2–5 Years
Location: Hybrid, Makati City
Reporting To: CEO
About the Role: We are seeking a driven and analytical Clean Energy Impact Analyst to join our team. Working directly alongside leadership, you will spearhead our impact measurement and manage the end-to-end lifecycle of I-RECs (International Renewable Energy Certificates) for our renewable energy projects. You will also help us navigate complex ESG frameworks and explore secondary opportunities in carbon markets. This is a highly collaborative, hands-on role perfect for someone passionate about climate tech, clean energy, and the evolving mechanics of global environmental markets.
Key Responsibilities:
- I-REC Generation & Management (Core Focus): Manage the complete lifecycle of I-RECs for our renewable energy projects. This includes facility registration, navigating global registries (e.g., Evident), and overseeing the issuance, tracking, and retirement of certificates.
- Environmental Claims & Accounting: Apply the GHG Protocol to ensure strict adherence to market-based Scope 2 emissions calculations. Maintain clear separation of environmental claims to prevent double-counting between I-RECs and other offset claims.
- Cross-Functional Tech Collaboration: Work closely with the engineering and product teams to streamline energy data collection. Leverage knowledge of API integrations to automate MWh tracking, I-REC minting, and impact reporting.
- ESG Frameworks & Reporting: Draft comprehensive ESG disclosures and ensure our projects align with global frameworks such as TCFD, SASB, GRI, and ISSB.
- Market Research & Strategy: Track developments primarily in Energy Attribute Certificate (EAC) markets, monitoring pricing, regulatory shifts, and emerging methodologies.
- Carbon Credit Exploration (Secondary): Support broader sustainability goals by assisting with carbon credit strategies as needed, including familiarity with Project Design Documents (PDDs) and MRV processes for registries like Verra or Gold Standard.
What We're Looking For:
- Experience: 2–5 years of professional experience in corporate sustainability, renewable energy markets, or environmental commodities.
- Core Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of the I-REC Standard, Energy Attribute Certificates (EACs), and market-based Scope 2 accounting under the GHG Protocol.
- Data & Tech Fluency: Strong analytical skills with high proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets. Familiarity with API integrations and the ability to work seamlessly with tech teams to translate complex energy generation data (MWh) into actionable insights.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of distilling complex technical ESG regulations and registry mechanics into clear summaries for stakeholders.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Economics, Finance, or a related field.
