Team Size: 5–10 Finance Professionals (Finance Manager, Auditors, Analysts)
About the Role We are seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to serve as a key executive partner to the Managing Partner and leadership team of our U.S.-based law firm. The CFO will provide enterprise-level financial direction, drive long-term business strategy, and ensure the firm's fiscal health and governance. This role sits at the highest level of financial leadership—overseeing financial strategy, risk management, and overall firm performance. The CFO will ensure that all financial decisions and initiatives are aligned with the firm's growth objectives and stakeholder priorities. The ideal candidate is an accomplished financial executive with deep expertise in U.S. GAAP accounting, FP&A, capital management, and strategic planning, preferably within a law firm or professional services environment.
Key Responsibilities Executive Financial Leadership
- Partner directly with the Managing Partner and executive leadership to define, execute, and communicate the firm's long-term financial strategy.
- Serve as the principal financial advisor on business growth, investments, and risk management.
- Lead enterprise-wide financial governance, ensuring fiscal discipline and sustainable profitability. Strategic Planning & Business Performance
- Oversee the financial modeling of new business initiatives and expansion plans.
- Monitor firm performance metrics, capital structure, and financial risk exposure.
- Drive data-informed decision-making at the leadership and partner levels. Financial Oversight & Compliance
- Ensure integrity, accuracy, and transparency in financial reporting under U.S. GAAP.
- Oversee audit processes, external auditor relations, and regulatory compliance.
- Safeguard firm assets through robust internal controls and financial policies. Cash Flow, Capital & Investment Management
- Direct cash flow, working capital, and capital expenditure strategies.
- Lead initiatives to optimize liquidity and strengthen the firm's financial position. Leadership & Organizational Development
- Lead and mentor a high-performing finance team across multiple functions.
- Build strong cross-department collaboration to embed financial accountability across the organization.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; MBA or Master's in Finance preferred.
- 13–15 years of progressive finance experience, including 5–7 years in a senior executive or CFO capacity within a U.S.-based organization.
- 8–10 years of direct U.S. accounting and finance exposure, ideally in professional services or legal sectors.
- CPA (U.S.) strongly preferred; CMA or MBA with equivalent experience acceptable.
- Expertise in financial strategy, FP&A, capital management, and audit oversight.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online, Google Workspace, and advanced Excel modeling.
- Strong executive presence, influencing skills, and business acumen.
