Hiring: Central Accounting Specialist

Onsite | Manila

Full-time / Contractual (Renewable)

Salary: Negotiable (based on experience)

Panoptik Global is looking for a Central Accounting Specialist to support fixed and intangible asset accounting, financial reporting, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

Central Fixed and Intangible Asset Accounting

Review asset disposal and transfer forms received from offices. Verify requests, justification, and documentation, and advise offices on the correct retirement type option to be used. Ensure that all fixed asset retirements are properly recorded in the accounts. Follow up with offices regarding the list of assets approved for retirement that still exist in the asset register, and the list of assets that were retired or transferred without proper approval and authorization.

Review and monitor annual stocktake submissions of company assets and beneficiary assets from offices to ensure that assets exist, are owned by the company, and are duly accounted for.

Recommend changes and improvements to fixed and intangible asset management policies and procedures, as necessary, consistent with IPSAS, to ensure that the required internal controls are in place.

Provide support for ad hoc requirements and assist in the central accounting processes related to fixed and intangible assets.

Others

Assist in preparing periodic and ad hoc reports requested by various internal and external stakeholders.

Assist in preparing business requirements and performing testing procedures during the development stage for automation of financial reports in the system, with the goal of streamlining business processes. Liaise with business analysts regarding required system changes to meet organizational needs, as approved by FAD.

Assist in providing required files and data during internal and external audits.

Assist in managing the team's assigned mailboxes and ticketing tool (FinCoorP).

Perform other administrative and accounting functions as required.

Qualifications:

Education

University degree in Finance, Accounting, or a relevant field from an accredited academic institution.

Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent is an advantage.

Experience

Minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience in accounting, finance, or budgeting. Audit experience is an advantage.

Skills

Experience in accounting or finance, including preparation of annual financial statements and management reports.

Sound knowledge of accounting systems and/or SAP or Oracle, as well as generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), business risk controls, and audit/review procedures.

Computer literacy, including proficiency in MS Office applications. Knowledge of other IT systems and their implementation is an advantage.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to design, review, and improve business processes to increase efficiency.

Language

Fluent in English
