Job Summary
The Practice Lead Cloud is responsible for leading and growing the organization's Cloud practice, driving strategy, delivery excellence, capability development, and revenue growth. This role oversees cloud solutions architecture, project delivery, presales support, and team leadership across platforms such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud. The Practice Lead ensures alignment between business objectives and cloud transformation initiatives while building a high-performing cloud engineering team.
Key Responsibilities
Practice Strategy & Growth
- Define and execute the Cloud practice strategy aligned with company goals.
- Develop service offerings, go-to-market strategies, and value propositions.
- Drive revenue growth, profitability, and utilization targets.
- Identify new business opportunities and partnerships within the cloud ecosystem.
Technical Leadership & Architecture Oversight
- Provide thought leadership on cloud architecture, migration, modernization, and DevOps practices.
- Oversee solution design for cloud-native, hybrid, and multi-cloud environments.
- Ensure adherence to best practices in security, governance, scalability, and cost optimization.
- Establish cloud standards, frameworks, and reusable assets.
Pre-Sales & Client Engagement
- Support business development through solutioning, proposal development, and client presentations.
- Serve as executive sponsor or technical lead during key client engagements.
- Translate business requirements into scalable cloud solutions.
- Build strong relationships with key clients and strategic partners.
Delivery & Operational Excellence
- Oversee cloud project delivery to ensure timelines, budget, and quality standards are met.
- Manage resource planning, skills allocation, and practice capacity.
- Establish KPIs and performance metrics for delivery teams.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the practice.
People Leadership & Capability Building
- Lead, mentor, and grow cloud architects, engineers, and consultants.
- Develop training plans, certification pathways, and career progression frameworks.
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability.
- Recruit top cloud talent to strengthen practice capability.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related field.
- 10+ years of IT experience with at least 5+ years in Cloud leadership roles.
- Deep expertise in one or more major cloud platforms (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud).
- Strong background in cloud architecture, migration, DevOps, and security.
- Experience managing P&L, budgeting, and revenue targets.
- Proven track record in pre-sales, solutioning, and client engagement.
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Cloud certifications (AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, GCP Professional Architect).
- Experience in multi-cloud and hybrid cloud environments.
- Knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
- Exposure to enterprise transformation programs.
