Catastrophe Modeling Analyst

Remote | Night Shift | Full-Time

We are looking for a Catastrophe Modeling Analyst to support risk analysis for inward reinsurance contracts. The role involves analyzing catastrophe exposure, validating model outputs, preparing reports, and applying data science / machine learning techniques to large datasets for better insight and decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Use third-party catastrophe models to estimate catastrophe risk
• Review and validate CAT model outputs
• Prepare exposure reports and summaries
• Support cat pricing of reinsurance submissions
• Apply ML methods such as similarity scoring and clustering to large datasets
• Create analytics outputs such as reports, dashboards, and notebooks

Qualifications

• Graduate of a quantitative course such as Math, Actuarial Science, Computer Science, IT, Physical Sciences, or Engineering
• Strong analytical skills with experience in Excel, Python and/or SQL
• Experience working with large datasets
• Exposure to machine learning techniques for data cleaning/alignment/analysis
• Good communication skills and attention to detail
• Familiarity with Power BI or similar visualization tools is a plus
• Basic knowledge of insurance/reinsurance is an advantage
• Willing to work beyond normal hours during peak periods if needed
