Job Description
ROLE PURPOSE
To prepare accurate technical drawings, shop drawings, and as-built plans that support engineering design, quotation, and installation execution for pump and fluid system projects.
The CAD Operator ensures all drawings are buildable, updated, and aligned with approved technical designs.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Design & Documentation
Prepare shop drawings for pump room layout, piping, equipment arrangement, and electrical routing
Develop as-built drawings after project completion
Convert engineering sketches and concepts into detailed technical drawings
Ensure drawings comply with approved design and project scope
Coordination & Revisions
Coordinate with Application Engineers for technical inputs
Coordinate with Installation Team for site conditions and adjustments
Implement drawing revisions promptly and accurately
Maintain version control of all drawings
Quality & Compliance
Ensure drawings are clear, complete, and buildable
Follow company drafting standards and file management procedures
Flag inconsistencies or missing technical details
Process Support
Support technical proposals with layout drawings when required
Assist Engineering & Technical Supervisor in documentation control
Qualifications
Education
Graduate of Drafting Technology, Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related course
CAD certification is an advantage
Technical Skills
Proficient in AutoCAD (required)
Knowledge of piping layouts, pump systems, mechanical drawings (preferred)
Basic understanding of electrical layouts is an advantage
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
Experience
At least 1 year experience as CAD Operator or Drafter (fresh graduates may be considered with strong skills)
Experience in mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, or industrial systems is an advantage
