Job Description

Summary of the role:

The Business Intelligence Specialist currently serves under the direction of a Business Intelligence Lead. They are the data specialists who contribute to organizational improvement by gathering and analyzing data, preparing reports, and introducing process improvements throughout the reporting process. They have excellent analytical and technical skills, in addition to a keen ability to determine specifications and standards for business reporting and maintaining data integrity.

The Business Intelligence Specialist's key responsibilities involve data extraction & maintenance, data modeling and transformation and data statistics/insights. Given that they receive various requests from Operations and Account Support Functions(WFM, CE, Coaching), it is a must to have strong task prioritization skills in addition to good statistical and critical thinking skills.

The Business Intelligence Specialist must be a compelling Data Storyteller. Data storytelling is a structured approach for communicating data insights, and it involves a combination of three key elements: data, visuals, and narrative. Weekly Reports must contain Prescriptive Actions that the Operation Team can implement to help drive improvement in operation performance

A strong proficiency with computer application components such as Microsoft Office(Excel, PowerPoint) and G Suite is a must. Possess the ability to learn and navigate tools and dashboards. Must demonstrate professionalism at all times and utilize excellent written and oral communication skills. The successful candidate will have a passion for ensuring data quality, analyzing data and identifying patterns and trends as well as building engaging visualizations that simplify complex stories.

Technical/Niche skillset required

  • Strong knowledge of relational databases (Google Cloud Platform and BigQuery), database structures and design, systems design, and data management; able to write, execute, and interpret queries
  • Proficient in writing complex SQL Queries, Stored Procedures, Views, Joins to implement business logic
  • Experience with Data Visualization / Dashboard tools
  • Experience with Agile Project Management Methodologies (SCRUM, Kanban etc.)
  • Expert knowledge of Google Sheets with ability to create charts, graphs, pivot tables, and complex formulas
  • Proficiency with Google Docs applications and the ability to learn to navigate new tools and dashboards
  • High Level of Proficiency in Front end BI Tools (Sisense/Looker Data Studio/ Look ML/ Tableau/ Power BI etc.) would be a distinct advantage
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office applications and Google Sheets
  • Practical Knowledge of relational databases, database structures and design, systems design, and data management; able to write, execute, and interpret queries
