About the Role

The Business Development Officer is responsible for identifying and assessing new business opportunities, conducting market research, developing business cases, generating and converting leads, and supporting the initial implementation of approved strategies. This role plays a critical part in Peak Fuel Corporation's growth initiatives, including but not limited to new product entries, retail expansion, and strategic partnerships.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct industry research and competitive analysis to identify growth opportunities across Peak Fuel Corporation's portfolio.
  • Analyze market trends, customer behavior, and emerging business models to determine feasibility and potential profitability.
  • Identify new revenue streams, strategic partnerships, and expansion opportunities.
  • Develop comprehensive business cases that include financial projections, risk assessments, and implementation plans.
  • Support the Business Development Manager in formulating growth strategies and presenting proposals to senior management.
  • Assist in the development of go-to-market strategies for new business opportunities.
  • Support the rollout and execution of approved business initiatives, including product launches and market entries.
  • Coordinate with internal teams (sales, marketing, supply chain, and operations) to ensure alignment in execution.
  • Track and evaluate project performance, identifying areas for optimization and improvement.
  • Proactively identify and generate leads for potential customers and distribution partners aligned with strategic growth initiatives.
  • Qualify prospects and manage initial engagement efforts to assess fit and business potential.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to support the smooth onboarding and activation of new accounts or distributors.
  • Maintain a healthy pipeline of viable leads to ensure consistent channel expansion and business scalability.
  • Engage with potential business partners, suppliers, and regulatory bodies to support negotiations and partnerships.
  • Work closely with finance, legal, operations, and sales teams to ensure feasibility and compliance of new initiatives.
  • Assist in developing strategic alliances that align with Peak Fuel Corporation's long-term vision.
  • Ensure a smooth handover of successfully implemented projects to sales, operations, or relevant teams.
  • Document business development processes, insights, and best practices for continuous improvement.
  • Provide data-driven post-launch analysis and strategic recommendations for future growth initiatives.
  • Performing other duties and responsibilities that may be assigned and delegated to the role as deemed necessary.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, Finance, or a related field.
  • Years of experience: 3 to 5 years of relevant work experience in business development, marketing or sales. Experience in retail, energy, or FMCG industries is preferred.
