The Business Development Manager drives revenue growth by identifying new business opportunities, developing strategic partnerships, and expanding the company's logistics services across target markets. This role focuses on client acquisition, solution selling, and long-term account growth within freight, warehousing, and supply chain services.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, qualify, and close new business opportunities in freight forwarding, trucking, warehousing, and supply chain solutions
- Develop and execute sales strategies aligned with company growth targets
- Build and maintain strong relationships with shippers, distributors, manufacturers, and key decision-makers
- Conduct market research to identify trends, customer needs, and competitive positioning
- Prepare and deliver sales presentations, proposals, and pricing negotiations
- Collaborate with operations, pricing, and customer service teams to ensure smooth onboarding and service delivery
- Manage sales pipeline, forecasts, and CRM updates
- Meet or exceed monthly and annual revenue targets
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Proven experience in business development or sales within logistics, freight, or supply chain
- Strong understanding of logistics services (air, sea, land, 3PL, warehousing)
- Excellent negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills
- Ability to sell solutions, not just services
- Strong analytical and market assessment capabilities
- Proficient in CRM and sales reporting tools
