Job Description

Responsibilities

  • The Business Development Manager leads and manages the sales team to drive revenue through new business acquisition and client retention. Key responsibilities include:
  • Overseeing day-to-day sales operations and ensuring team compliance with defined sales processes.
  • Reviewing, approving, or disapproving proposals within approved limits and endorsing pricing/benefit recommendations for account closure or renewal.
  • Planning, monitoring, and evaluating strategic acquisition and retention programs for clients.
  • Ensuring completeness and accuracy of all submitted account documents before processing with relevant departments (Actuarial, Underwriting, QRFT, Account Management).
  • Monitoring team performance against sales targets, KPIs, and KRAs, and providing coaching or mentoring to address competency gaps.
  • Collaborating with Account Management Support and other department heads to resolve operational concerns and escalate critical account issues.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Minimum 57 years of experience in HMO, healthcare, or general insurance sales and business development.
  • Proven track record in new business acquisition and client retention.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing and coaching a sales team.
  • Familiarity with pricing, benefits structuring, and proposal evaluation.
  • Solid understanding of insurance products, underwriting processes, and regulatory compliance.
