The Business Development Manager will lead the identification and advancement of renewable energy development opportunities. This role is responsible for shaping the project pipeline from early screening through initial commercial validation, while coordinating closely with internal teams and external partners.
The position plays a key role in driving growth across renewable technologies by balancing market insight, commercial judgment, and execution discipline.
Identify and progress renewable energy opportunities across solar, wind, and energy storage
Assess market conditions, approval pathways, grid access considerations, and competitive positioning
Develop and manage a forward-looking development pipeline
Lead financial assessments, valuation work, and commercial viability reviews
Support investment decision-making through structured opportunity evaluations
Build and manage relationships with land stakeholders, development partners, contractors, and public-sector counterparts
Lead commercial discussions and documentation for early-stage partnerships, site control, and confidentiality arrangements
Coordinate early development approvals and compliance requirements with relevant authorities
Track regulatory and policy developments and evaluate potential impacts on active and future opportunities
Manage and mentor members of the business development function
Oversee preparation of opportunity summaries, investment materials, and internal presentations
Ensure effective coordination across commercial, technical, legal, finance, sustainability, and delivery teams
5-10 years of experience in business development, project development, or commercial roles within renewable energy, power, or infrastructure
Hands-on understanding of renewable energy development and approval processes
Experience working with solar, wind, and/or energy storage projects
Strong capability in financial modeling, market assessment, and commercial risk evaluation
Effective communicator with proven negotiation and stakeholder management skills
Prior experience leading or mentoring team members
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field advanced qualifications are a plus
Exposure to project acquisitions, partnerships, or owner-operator environments is advantageous
