Business Development Manager APAC (Maritime Technology)

A fast-growing, globally recognised maritime technology business is seeking a Business Development Manager to drive expansion across the Philippines and wider APAC region. The company is at the forefront of digital transformation in shipping, delivering an advanced platform that connects vessels, people, and data to improve operational efficiency and decision-making.

With a presence across 30+ countries, this organisation combines deep maritime expertise with cutting-edge technology, including predictive analytics and AI, to solve real-world challenges across the industry.

The Role

You will play a key role in growing the company's footprint within the maritime ecosystem, particularly across the Philippines. This is a highly commercial position focused on building strong industry relationships and converting opportunities into revenue.

You will:

  • Develop and execute business development strategies across the region
  • Generate, manage, and convert new business opportunities within the maritime sector
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders including crewing companies, ship managers, fleet operators, and maritime service providers
  • Own the full sales cycle from prospecting through to closing deals
  • Represent the business at industry events, conferences, and networking forums
  • Work closely with product and technical teams to deliver tailored solutions to clients
  • Collaborate with a small, globally distributed commercial team and report directly to senior leadership

What We're Looking For

  • Strong network within the maritime industry in the Philippines
  • Proven experience in business development, sales, or commercial roles within shipping or maritime services
  • Track record of generating leads and closing deals
  • Ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders
  • Self-motivated, independent, and comfortable working remotely
  • Experience selling software, SaaS, or digital solutions
  • Understanding of maritime operations (crewing, fleet management, voyage management, etc.)
  • Exposure to digital transformation initiatives within shipping
